In 2015 Dick Chopin was trial counsel and obtained a jury verdict in a medical malpractice case in New Orleans, Louisiana. This case involved the death of an 8-year-old girl and is thought to be the second-highest jury verdict in a medical malpractice case awarded to a single plaintiff.
